Peter Ettrup Larsen (b. 1965) studied with renowned conducting professor Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland (1993). Furthermore he has a
clarinet-diploma from The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen (1991) and a M.A. in musicology and rhetoric from the University of Copenhagen (1994).
Today Peter Ettrup Larsen has an international career as a free-lance-conductor, conducting as well the symphonic repertoire as opera and ballet. He has recorded CD’s with several orchestras and he also teaches at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Previously he has taught at The University of Copenhagen and at Bradley University in Illinois, USA, where he was ’Guest Scholar in Residence’ in the fall of 2002.Peter Ettrup Larsen frequently gives lectures on the importance of musical communication. As a lecturer on communication he performs as well in the business-world as in the tuition-system as well as with local authorities all over Denmark. He has also talked at international conferences in the USA and Canada.
Peter Ettrup Larsen is chairman of the board at The Rhythmical Folk High School (in Denmark), is on the board of The Danish Conductors Association, and in 2005 he was elected to the board of the international conductor’s organization Conductors Guild in the USA.Download CV, photos
